Joel and Carolyn McElreath
World Venture, Israel – Retired
After 50 years of ministry in Europe and the Middle East, and 60 years of marriage, the McElreaths recently decided it was time to ‘retire’ to Arizona. So many transitions need to be made during this time, including the adjustment to a fluid American culture from a Middle Eastern one. It has been PCC’s privilege to have partnered with the Joel and Carolyn for nearly 30 years, and we plan to keep in touch with them in the days to come. Here’s a note from Arizona…
Since officially retiring from WorldVenture at the end of March, we have been invited to share in those churches in the Phoenix area that have partnered with us for many years. A realtor named Russ, who is a Jewish believer, helped us locate our new place. He also became a dear friend during our difficult days of relocation and adjustment to life in Arizona. Several showed our fifty-year ministry video and presented us with gifts that we are still enjoying. Moreover, two pastors gave us the honor to have the morning sermon time to share our ministry. Other churches we have communicated with by telephone or zoom meetings. Thank you for your prayers for us as we have moved from being “Watchmen on the Walls” to “Voices in the Desert” with on-going bonds and prayer links with those in Israel.
Please pray for them as they search for a new home church in their area. Pray also for their neighbor who helped them get settled. He recently prayed to receive Christ and the McElreaths have begun a weekly Bible study with him and his wife.
