Dan and Betty Anderson
URM / DEED & TRUTH – LOS ANGELES
After serving several years on PCC’s Pastoral Staff, Dan along with Betty, underwent a dramatic ministry focus which led them to work with the Union Rescue Mission in downtown Los Angeles. Dan serves as lead chaplain and in involved in discipleship of staff and men on the street. Betty is an instrumental part of Hope Gardens Family Center, a transitional housing campus that offers sanctuary to single women and children who are experiencing homelessness. They also oversee Deed and Truth, a non-profit that works alongside URM and those they serve.
Please pray for…
- The Iron Man Scholarship Program which helps men during the first year after transitioning out of the Mission. There is much fear and temptation associated with the transition, and the scholarship assists men in paying basic bills upon leaving the mission such as first month’s rent, housing deposits, car purchase, furniture, etc.
- The Band of Brothers & Circle of Sisters ministries, designed to keep our graduating men and women actively involved in Christian community by funding monthly connecting events, dinners and service projects.
- The Christian life Discipleship Programs at both URM and Hope Gardens which provide discipleship classroom materials, retreats to train staff and volunteer leaders, and other tools and opportunities to promote spiritual growth in these men and women.
