Japan Evangelical Mission Society
In the midst of reports of pandemic shutdowns, it’s great to see how God has protected pockets of people around the world, allowing His work to go on unimpeded. Over the last couple weeks things have been opening back up in Japan as the concerns over the spread of the Corona virus subside. We were fortunate to weather through the outbreak largely untouched, with our prefecture not confirming a single case!
We once again opened our home for in-person worship services, while still giving people the option to connect online. It was a tremendous blessing to worship with our little congregation face-to-face once again.
This month we’re also restarting the cafe ministry, but with added precautions like wearing a face mask, stricter guidelines about snacks and social distancing. Still it was a blessing to get to see some of the ladies that we’ve met within the past and this month we’ll be visiting many of the government apartments to catch-up with those who have been sheltering in.
Added special news, after serving in the Miyako prefecture church for four years, David is being ordained as Pastor of a church plant in Morioka. Praise God for this opportunity that God has opened up to this faithful couple. Pray for the growth of this new body both in spirit and number.
