Japan Evangelical Mission Society
David and Tomo form one of our newer partnerships, and are now well into their second term with Japan Evangelical Mission (JEM). They are planting a church in rural Japan, in cooperation with a Japanese Conservative Baptist Church. They report:
In our church in Miyako we have hosted weekly worship services in our home to gather local believers to worship God together. We work to teach them the Bible, pray with them, and equip them to share their faith with their friends. We have seen a greater interest in outreach, evangelism, and church planting among their members, and our prayer is that they continue to grow as a church planting church. Recently they have begun to support another weekly worship service gathering in a different town in our prefecture, led by a member of that church!
The church that is overseeing the Miyako church plant has decided to ordain David this month to serve as the church planting pastor of the new church plant. This is a huge responsibility so pray for David and for Tomo as they will play a key role in the spiritual growth of this new body of believers.
