Dr. Jayakumar
South Asia
Dr. Jayakumar has been a long-time partner with PCC. He is the founder of Bible Believing Missions and Churches in Bangalore, India. His students become trained church planters and pastors and are sent to various parts of the country to serve the Lord. His wife and long-time co-worker, Prema, died earlier this year, yet by God’s grace he continues on without her. Dr. Jay writes:
The pandemic situation has certainly affected our ministry since the months of March – April. The epidemic, along with the unexpected lockdown, threw most mission agencies and churches into panic and they could not do much.
By June BBCM returned to normal functioning through virtual programs. Of course, May was a bit challenging for me due to my wife’s ill health and eventual Home going.
Many of our Church Plants are in regions where wifi is poor, however we have been mentoring our regional leaders and in turn they keep in touch with the workers in the field. Our four new projects, in Nepal, Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and one among Sinhalese in Lanka, are all now pending.
While those are pending, our existing projects are doing well. Law does not permit usual gathering on Sundays but all our CPs have both physical and virtual church programs. And the pandemic has made us minister to non-Christian communities better. Almost all our plants have helped their communities by providing food and groceries. My virtual teaching is reaching a good number of non-Christians, in particular my teaching on prophecies.
Please pray for Dr. Jay and his team of workers spread throughout this vast nation. With a strong dependence on virtual ministry, pray for good connections and computers to stay online. And pray for wisdom for Dr. Jay during these very tumultuous days of ministry.
