Ethnos 360 – Itinerant
Travel restrictions established by Indonesia have long delayed a translation check of Matthew, Mark, and Luke for the Wano team in West Papua. Considering the size of the check (close to 2800 verses) and this being Greg’s first check of Wano, the ideal situation would have been an on-site, close to month-long visit to the Wano village. However, considering the road block and the need for the Scriptures, the translator and Greg will embark upon a remote check starting October 5. The time zone difference allows for a six-hour day, with Greg working in the evenings and the Wano team the following mornings. With the shortened work day, and trusting God for good connections, the check could take up to five weeks to complete. The pre-check preparation has been long completed, so pray they can keep a good pace and schedule, and that the check would be a good reflection of all the hard work done by the translator thus far.
From September 26- October 2 Greg will be in Camdenton, Missouri, the site of E360’s missionary training center. He’ll be taking part in discussions regarding the latest iteration of the mission’s evangelism curriculum that runs from Creation through Revelation. Greg is serving as editor of the curriculum and will be meeting with the development team for the first time. Pray all the necessary topics will be covered during those five days, and for continued progress in the editing process. Also pray for safe travels, and for quiet days for Laura as she remains in Oregon.
