The van Meerveld family changed ministries and locations this past summer, moving from Ohio to Dallas . Starting over is never easy, but God is already providing them with great opportunities to serve through local churches and community centers. Here’s their latest update from Dallas…
We are excited to reach the next generation through the platform of soccer. A picture of what this looks like happened last week at one of our Christ-centered skills clinics that we provide in partnership with Prestonwood Church. The coaches involved are currently in Highschool or College or working as a Highschool Soccer Coach. Together we form a team from different backgrounds and ages to impact the next generation through the platform of soccer. The coaches have shared in their onboarding with Ignite how much they enjoy working with children to enable them to know God and to make Him known. It was great to even give Women’s college players a taste of this in pre-season while they worked together with Stef to run a Christ-centered youth soccer camp at Dallas Baptist University.
God is using the van Meervelds and Ignite to use non-traditional methods in an effort to reach youth for Christ. They are partnering with churches outside the walls of their buildings to share the gospel and eventually bring kids, and their families, within the wall of the local congregations. Pray for continued interest from local churches, and for Stef as he considers new partnerships in the US and abroad.
