VOM has designated nine major Islamic extremist groups that target, persecute and kill Christians worldwide. Only a small number of their larger attacks reach Western news sources, but Christians in these areas are suffering daily. One of these groups, Boko Haram, focuses its efforts on Northern Nigeria. In 2014, the group kidnapped 276 high school-aged girls from the village of Chibok, and since 2009 they have burned down over 1000 Christian churches in the area.

…that the bonds of fear will be broken among Nigerian citizens to boldly elect godly officials who will stand against the efforts of Boko Haram to turn Nigeria into an Islamic State.
…for Christians in Nigeria’s surrounding nations of Chad and Niger and Cameroon where Boko Haram activities are increasing.
…for the freedom of all of the Chibok girls; pray that those who have escaped will recover from physical and emotional wounds (VOM is providing help to some of the escaped girls).
