Chad and Janeene Mankins

ETHNOS 360 – ITINERANT PAPUA NEW GUINEA

The Mankins helped plant a church among the Tobo people group in PNG and are now in the process of translating the New Testament into the Tobo language. Because of local opposition and the remoteness of the people group, they had been working on the project from mission headquarters in Goroka. However, medical issues have led them to return to the US where they are seeking treatment, with Chad making trips back to PNG to continue the translation on an itinerant basis.

PLEASE PRAY…

  • as Chad and his team check the final chapters of John and the first chapters of Luke for comprehension. Pray any issues that take away from its accuracy, naturalness, or faithfulness will come to the surface and be corrected before moving on to the next stage of checking.
  • for good feedback on the printed Scripture booklets Chad will be distributing on this trip to Tobo. The books from Romans to Revelation have been checked and this run will serve as a good pre-publication test of the translation.
  • for safety and wisdom for Janeene as she cares for the family in Dallas in Chad’s absence, and for safe travels for Chad as he returns home.
