Ethnos 360 – Itinerant

“I arrived in Asuncion one week ago after a 30-hour trip via Panama, and arrived in the Chaco on Saturday. We checked the Book of Esther in Manjui on Monday, and just finished Joshua 1-12 in Nivacle at noon today. We’re a little ahead of schedule so we were able to tuck in the first four of Matthew this afternoon, allowing us to begin the Sermon on the Mount tomorrow.

Our two translation helpers are doing a very good job, so pray they can endure and continue to shine over the next six days. Also pray for good health. I don’t have allergy problems in the US but it’s Spring here and things are blooming like they’re on steroids! Smells great but…

The Chaco is in the northwest part of Paraguay in an area nobody wanted to settle until the Mennonites moved here about 80 years ago. It’s hot. It’s dry. It’s supposed to be 107 tomorrow, with 30 mph winds. It’s a long way from lush PNG with 300 inches of rainfall annually! Nonetheless, there are four language groups here whose churches are longing for more Scripture. Pray that we can meet all our goals, and that more of the Word will soon be in their hands.”
