Last week our situation in Cambodia seemed to be improving. This week we faced an unexpected reversal. Sadly, a super-spreading event took place last week where thousands were exposed to COVID-19 during a high-level ceremony. The government (rightly so) had to suddenly reverse directions and impose even tighter restrictions. The concern is still the same: if COVID-19 spreads through Cambodia, large numbers of fatalities are likely. And there is an increased level of fear and distrust between Cambodians. We are amazed how long Cambodia has withstood the virus. We of course praise God for this. We know Our Hope lives and we rest in His capable hands.
Please pray as new lockdowns on the horizon. All Cambodian schools are closed or have also moved online. Churches and other gatherings have been ordered closed, but Jeff is able to continue to mentor church leaders/new missionaries, teach classes at the Bible School, and offer consultations with other organizations.
