The JESUS Film Project – Orlando, FL
The Deckerts were long-time members of PCC before ministry with CRU led them to move to Orlando. Chris heads up the translation projects for the JESUS Film, and in this role helps coordinate consultants and translators in an effort to produce high-quality translations of the film into majority and minority languages around the world.
“God has opened many doors for us to do Virtual JESUS Film Translation workshops in the coming months. I thank God for a team that is willing to flex and be innovative to try new things. Our global and regional partners have been flexible too. It is often difficult and expensive to find reliable internet. All of us have had to spend extra time in training and communication with much patience over the distances. Please continue to pray as we persevere and go out with BOLDNESS and UNHINDERED and in the power of the HOLY SPIRIT! (Acts 28:31)
Another project has been to map out how the JESUS Film is doing getting the Gospel to the places that need it most. We continue to develop ways to track and assess what we have done in order to assess our progress and find the Missional Gap. We desire to pioneer bringing the Gospel to the places that need it most and partner with those agencies that are doing it best. We are developing maps that use real-time partner data and their use of the film with the results as well as the state of Christianity on the ground.”
Coordination of consultants and translators across several time zones, each with varying internet connectivity, is a daunting task. Please pray for Chris and his team as they coordinate these translation projects. And pray that doors would remain open to work virtually with team members around the world.
