Dr. Jayakumar has been a long-time partner with PCC. He is the founder of Bible Believing Missions and Churches in Bangalore, India. His students become trained church planters and pastors and are sent to various parts of the country to serve the Lord. His wife and long-time co-worker, Prema, died last year, yet by God’s grace he continues on without her. Dr. Jay writes:
There has been a widespread – “spread of Covid” in India. In particular provinces Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka are severely affected. More people die due to lack of oxygen. Last Saturday during my devotion time I was led to conclude that “the Name of Jesus” alone is the solution for India now. For us our weapon is just prayer. Earlier last week I was challenged by Hezekiah in chapter 29: “Levites consecrate yourselves now and consecrate your temple of the Lord … Remove all defilement from the sanctuary.” We need His authority and power to speak before God on behalf of my fellow countrymen. Who can make my countrymen protected other than Jesus? Who can make supplications on behalf of my countrymen other than me? We need to be cleansed and consecrated.
How you could pray:
(1) first of all pray for nationwide repentance among Christians
(2) that all believers will take up the weapon of prayer
(3) for greater oxygen production and availability in the country
(4) for people to cooperate with the restrictions and adhere to them strictly
(5) for people to realize the need for vaccination
(6) for people not to panic but act wisely.
