ETHNOS 360 – PAPUA NEW GUINEA

The Mankins arrived in PNG in 2001 and settled into a remote, helicopter only location in the Madang Province. They are presently based in Texas, but Chad makes regular trips to the village to translate the New Testament for the Tobo believers. He passed on this report recently from his translation team in PNG:

Our spirits soared once more as Ambox recently recounted more good news from the village. Yet another man has trusted Christ for his salvation! Kopok was one of the four men who almost exactly two years ago on one of my itinerant trips to the village came eager to help out with checking the translation of the remaining 600 verses of Acts for understanding.  He and the other three men who came to work with us each received one of the first 24 Megavoice solar mp3 devices with the Tobo chronological Bible lessons. Ambox during that time took multiple opportunities to share the sweet gospel of grace with our coworkers (only one of whom was a believer at the time). He said that not only has Kopok recently become a believer, but that he is also telling everyone he knows about his newfound faith! It looks like yet another new Christian is ready for takeoff as he learns more and grows through the faithful teaching of God’s Word in his language. In just two years, three out of those four men who came to help us during that trip are now Christ-followers!

Praise God for doing what He said He would do—cause His Word to produce new life in the hearts of men and women from every people and language group in the world! And please continue to pray for Chad and his team as they labor to produce a faithful and natural translation for the Tobo believers and church!
