One month ago we posted important prayer requests from our partner ministry in South Asia, Bible Believing Churches and Missions. We just received another timely update from Dr. Jayakumar:
* Shortage of vaccine is obvious and many private hospitals here are making use of this situation to make money. The grossly underdeveloped medical infrastructure has been exposed. Corrupt governance in the public distribution system continues to plague the people.
* Some of our BBCM staff have contracted the virus and recovered, but sadly we have lost two church planters to Covid 19–one in Orissa, one in South Karnataka. Pray for their widows and children who are left behind during these difficult days.
* Many have lost their jobs and many businesses have closed. The churches we have planted rose to the occasion and put together relief packages for those in need. It was amazing to see the hands and feet of Jesus at work among people whose resources are already stretched thin.
* There was a significant drop in the number of positive cases nation-wide in the past week, so please pray this is a true indication the pandemic is declining.
This huge and densely populated country has been one of the hardest hit in the world. Pray for physical and spiritual relief to cover this country soon!
