The JESUS Film Project – Orlando

The Deckerts were long-time members of PCC before ministry with CRU led them to move to Orlando. Chris heads up the translation projects for the JESUS Film, and in this role helps coordinate consultants and translators in an effort to produce high-quality translations of the film into majority and minority languages around the world. He recently wrote:

We recently completed a language in Indonesia where the speakers believe invisible spirits inhabit our world. They also have a word in their language called Nango which means helping our neighbor unexpectedly, without invitation. The 94,000 people who speak this language are ripe to hear the Good News of Jesus. Lestari, one of the translators, was recovering from surgery and wasn’t feeling well enough to start recording. Praying for a speedy recovery, she told the team, “This is God’s work. God will provide the strength I need to finish the JESUS movie.” Hidayat said, “She worked straight through – needing no breaks.” “God is with us,” Lestari said. “God will bless our people with the JESUS film!”

Prayers started each recording day, sustaining both the team AND THE WEATHER! In Indonesia, monsoon rains in February are common. Both Lestari and Arif assumed rain would interrupt the recording. But God cleared the skies, the sun shining brightly from the first day. Praise God.

Thank you for your continued prayer for the Translation work of the JESUS Film. We now have close to 50 Mission 865 scripts of the JESUS Film completed and awaiting recording. Travel is still dicey in many areas of the world. Thank God we have been able to do so much virtually and locally but we really need to get our recording teams into these countries to finalize these films. Thankfully three trips have been approved recently and, hopefully, many more will be soon.
