Robert & Cirena Smith, Ethnos 360
Philippines

Just off the press from Robert as they are trusting the Lord to head back to their field of service soon…

Thank-you for praying for Cirena. She continues to do well and is recovering nicely. She still needs to complete more blood work this month but that is more about determining whether or not her thyroid medication needs to be adjusted. With a clean bill of health, we are now eyeing an early December return to the Philippines. With our housing lease ending at the end of September and the Canadian border recently opened, we are hoping to make a trip across the border in early October to visit family and friends we’ve not seen in five years or longer. During that time we are also planning to assist with training for a week at the Ethnos Canada training center. This will be followed again by assisting at the Ethnos360 Training Center at the end of October. All of this of course is assuming it’s the Lord’s will, so please keep that in prayer.

Please pray for Sheila. She is now in her last week of ministry with Eagle Lake Camps and we look forward to picking her up next Monday. Unfortunately she’ll have a quick turnaround as next Friday she’ll already need to be back in Phoenix to start her second year of school at Grand Canyon University. In between she’ll also be taking a road test to finally obtain her US Driver’s License so please keep that in prayer. Assuming she passes her road test, the plan is to leave her with our vehicle so that she can have transportation for church on the weekends as well as travel to and from the school where she’ll start her practicum this semester as a future school teacher.

Finally, please be in prayer for our friends and co-workers in the Philippines as they endure another round of Enhanced Community Quarantine due to surging COVID-19 numbers from the new Delta Variant. Recently this took the life of Cirena’s aunt, affectionately known as Mama Auring, in Cebu. Please keep the family in prayer, many of whom are here in the US.
